How to Use

  1. Draw your area. Open Areas, tap Draw a New Area, then tap the map at each corner of the streets you need to cover. Tap Done and give it a name.
  2. Start a shift. Tap Start Shift and put your phone in your pocket. Streets you pass turn green, and the area’s percentage goes up.
  3. Log as you go. Tap Delivered for each door, or add a Flag for No Flyers signs, dogs, vacant houses, locked gates and doors to come back to.
  4. Find the gaps. Anything still amber inside the outline hasn’t been covered yet.
  5. Send a report. Open the area and tap Coverage Report to share a PDF with the map, coverage, time, distance, deliveries and a shift log, or export a CSV.

FAQ

Does Handbill track me all the time?
No. Location is used only between Start Shift and End Shift. While a shift runs with the screen off, iPhone shows a blue location indicator.

Why doesn’t my area reach 100%?
Coverage counts the ground within the coverage width of where you walked. Large parks, lots or deep blocks may never turn green. Try the Spread Out width in Settings for long driveways and rural roads, or Dense for row houses.

Part of my route didn’t turn green.
GPS can be weak between tall buildings or under heavy trees. Handbill skips readings that are too inaccurate and shows a weak signal notice. Make sure Precise Location is on in Settings → Apps → Handbill → Location.

How much battery does a shift use?
GPS is on for the whole shift, about the same as a workout app. Pause during breaks to save power.

Can my team share one map?
Each phone keeps its own map. Use Settings → Export Backup and Restore Backup to combine maps, or send each other coverage reports.

Which devices are supported?
iPhone and iPad with iOS 17 or later. Recording coverage needs GPS, so iPhone works best.

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

Handbill (“the App”) is provided by an independent developer (“we”). This policy explains how the App handles information.

Information We Collect

We do not collect any personal information. The App has no accounts, no sign-in, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. We have no server, and nothing you do in the App is sent to us.

Location
With your permission, the App uses your device’s location only while a shift is running, to record the route you walked and the streets you covered. Routes, covered areas, flags and shift logs are saved only on your device. They are never uploaded or shared with us or anyone else. You can change this permission at any time in Settings → Apps → Handbill → Location.

Maps
Maps and walking directions are provided by Apple Maps, which loads map images for the area you are viewing under Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Reports and backups
Coverage reports, CSV files and backups are created only when you ask for them, and go only where you choose to save or send them.

Purchase
The App is purchased through the App Store. Apple processes the payment, and we do not receive your name, email address or payment information.

Children’s Privacy

We do not collect, store or share any personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Deleting Your Data

Use Settings → Erase All Data in the App, or delete the App, to remove everything from your device. Reports and backups you exported stay wherever you saved them until you delete them.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when the App changes. Updates will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
