How to Use

  1. Write your letters. Write each small letter three times between the guide lines. It takes about ten minutes, and you only do it once. Capitals and numbers can be added later for names and addresses.
  2. Pick a card. Holiday, Thank You, Birthday, Sympathy, Just Because or Letter. Type your message and watch it appear in your handwriting.
  3. Make it yours. Choose the card size, paper, pen and ink, add a photo, and sign your name by hand.
  4. Send it. Tap Send to share it as a picture, save a PDF or print it. For envelopes, open Address Envelopes, add people from Contacts, and print them one per page.

FAQ

Why write each letter three times?
Every time a letter appears, Kindly Yours picks one of your three versions and tilts and sizes it very slightly. That is what keeps it from looking like a font. Tap “Write It Again” for a different take on the same message.

Some letters are missing on my card.
Those are letters you haven’t written yet. The card lists them in red. Tap “Write Them” to add them. Until you write capitals, small letters stand in for them.

Does it do joined-up (cursive) writing?
Not yet. Letters are placed one by one, so printed handwriting looks the most natural.

Can I use someone else’s handwriting?
Yes. Tap “Add someone else’s handwriting” on the home screen and hand them your phone or iPad. Each handwriting is kept separately.

What paper should I print on?
Cards come in 5×7 and 4×6 inches, and letters in US Letter. Choose the same paper size in the print options. For envelopes, feed one at a time and choose the envelope size (A7, A2 or #10).

Writing with a finger looks thin or shaky.
Write a little larger and slower, filling the space between the lines. On iPad, Apple Pencil gives the smoothest result. You can rewrite any letter by tapping it in your handwriting page.

Is my signature used anywhere else?
No. It is only placed on the cards you choose to sign and stays on your device. Please don’t use Kindly Yours for legal documents.
