How to Use

  1. Pick a pile. Choose a month, Screenshots, Videos, On This Day, Last 30 Days or Shuffle.
  2. Swipe right to keep. The photo stays exactly where it is. You can also tap the heart to add it to your Favorites.
  3. Swipe left to mark for deletion. Marked photos wait in Marked for Deletion. Nothing is deleted yet, and the undo button brings back your last swipe.
  4. Review and delete. Open Marked for Deletion, tap any photo you want to keep after all, then tap Delete. iOS asks you to confirm.

FAQ

I deleted a photo by mistake. Can I get it back?
Yes, for 30 days. Open the Photos app, go to Albums → Recently Deleted, select the photo and tap Recover.

Does swiping left delete the photo right away?
No. Swiping left only marks the photo. Photos are deleted only when you tap Delete in Marked for Deletion and confirm in the iOS prompt.

Why does Roll Call only show some of my photos?
You may have given access to selected photos only. Go to Settings → Apps → Roll Call → Photos and choose Full Access.

Some photos take a moment to appear.
If you use iCloud Photos with “Optimize iPhone Storage,” the full photo is downloaded from iCloud when it comes up. Thumbnails appear first.

Is the amount of space freed exact?
It's based on the file sizes of the deleted photos and videos. iOS frees the space after the items leave Recently Deleted, either after 30 days or when you empty that album.

How do I start over?
Tap the gear on the home screen, then Start Over. This marks every photo as not yet reviewed and clears Marked for Deletion. No photos are deleted.

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

Roll Call (“the App”) is provided by an independent developer (“we”). This policy explains how the App handles information.

Information We Collect

We do not collect any personal information. The App has no accounts, no sign-in, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.

Your photos and videos
The App asks for access to your photo library so it can show your photos and videos one at a time. Your photos are displayed and processed only on your device. They are never uploaded, copied to a server or shared with us or anyone else. The App deletes a photo only after you tap Delete and confirm in the iOS prompt, and deleted items stay in the Photos app’s Recently Deleted album for 30 days.

Your progress
Which photos you have kept or marked for deletion, and the number of items you have cleared, are saved only on your device.

Purchase
The App is purchased through the App Store. Apple processes the payment, and we do not receive your name, email address or payment information. Please see Apple’s Privacy Policy for details.

Children’s Privacy

We do not collect, store or share any personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Deleting Your Data

Deleting the App removes your saved progress from your device. Your photos are not affected.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when the App changes. Updates will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
